Kuiz Sejarah

See me ? haha! We were not quite satisfied as we hoped to be able to represent Penang in the upcoming National Quiz on Sejarah. Here's how it went..
So on Thursday morning, I arrived at school as usual, early and I got my testimonials from my form teacher to be submitted to the MOE of Singapore for my ASEAN scholarship application and obtained the blank papers with the prestigious Chung Ling letterheads on it, with much difficulty due to lack of cooperation of some fellow high positioned bozos. Nevertheless, I wish to thank Ms Elizabeth Aw and MR Yeap Hock Chye, our beloved yet entao ass. HM and not to forget my dedicated form teacher Pn Oon who were most helpful. Then, I shitted in school for the second time since I first set foot here, in Chung Ling. Anyway, after all those, I submerged myself once again into the Sejarah textbooks. That was stressful to finish the Sej syllabus from F1 to F3 in two days was indeed a killer for me.

At 12, we embarked on our little journey to Jawi for the competition. We were to face 3 other schools shortlisted who were SMK SoSad, SMK Bukit Mertajam and Jit Sin. And so it started after we had Malay economy rice. We were quite nervous , seeing that there were more than 300 supporters of the other schools who were all from the mainland looking up at us. And so the game started, our first question hit us hard, blew our confidence 3 yards away. But nevertheless, we managed to answer the following questions until bad luck settled in. We simply chose quite a number of F5 Questions (we were told to concentrate on F1 to F3 by the organizers but nvmlah) which further erased any possibility of winning. The emcee kept mentioning ENFAGROW and about me being excited every time i stood up to answer a question. NO doubt, I was really cute and adorable there. The Malay girl sitting beside me( the champions) was like a walking Sejarah Textbook , I believe not to be of common genetic characteristic of a typical Homo Sapien. They deserved to win but us being losers, tried to console ourselves with the peribahasa" menang jadi arang, kalah jadi abu". Here are the photographs and one will not forget the SUPERB performance by a group of future Malaysian Idols....... Enjoy

Indiana Khoo and the Sukau Rainforest

Indiana Khoo is Back from the wild!
I never knew paradise was only a sea away until now. It's truly inspiring to be away from all the busting city life, just to be here, in Sukau, surrounded by never ending green carpets and 31 other crazy nature loving folks. When can one get this opportunity again? This is where one suddenly sees the “light” after 16 years just to admire, really appreciate and sense the desperate need to just sweep all of these into my embrace. To have both your legs sink 3 feet into a bottomless mud pit, to be able to see a night sky filled with infinite number of stars which one will never see back home in Penang, that is something one can never describe and experience through solely textbooks and the Discovery Channel.

I just came back from Sukau, Kinabatangan, Sabah, Malaysia. It was an incredible , awesome journey. It was organized by the Star in collaboration with D Jungle People. We were and are called the P2P Greeniz Educator. 32 of us supposedly chosen from 200 applicants (hehez tats wat they said) had this amazing opportunity to explore the wildlife in Kinabatangan.
Theres only one word, yes one word to describe that place - Breathtaking!
Hence, allow me to describe my adventure from day 0.1 to 29th of May :

Saturday, first day of the holidays:
Took a bus to KL at 7. Was very very very very frustrated. Doof that bus company. The bus had like around 5 to 6 stops to pick up passengers from Penang to Butterworth to Jawi... Really annoying. But i managed to bury myself in the book i was reading The Rape of Nanking. It's hard to be distracted by the outer surroundings when one is gets so shocked and immersed in the brutality of the Japanese beasts back then. No offence but what the Japanese soldiers did should earn them eternal damnation. Those b*stards. ANd whats the problem with them till now? The Japanese government still refuses to admit the atrocities done by their predecessors back then. Ironically, the ex soldiers who are still unfortunately alive are smiling through the lenses of the camera of the Discovery Channel crew when they were being interviewed about what they have done. DOOF YOU MAN! Mind you but sticking a bamboo stick into a young 16 year old girl's vagina is DAMN inhumane, satanic ! Ok enough of the sadism, now upon reaching PUDU, i had lunch with my mum there. ANd i Was so shocked to find out that KL, the capital of Malaysia, is filled with immigrants: Indonesians, Bangladeshis, Nepalese, Burmese, Siamese, You name it KL has it! It's not unusual at all to say that the population of immigrants alone overshadows the Indian population here. Scaryyyyy. SOmething needs to be done. Lets return to our adventure, so we had lunch at PUDU - 1 duck rice and 1 charsiew rice for me. As an ever-loving, charity-loving boy, I donated some money to some really cute schoolchildren(PLs note I am Not a paedophile) to help in the relief efforts in CHina. Later, hopped onto a LRT to my relative's house to prepare myself for tomorrow's great adventure.

Day1 - Indiana Khoo wakes up at 3am. Left for the LCCT with a wary heart. Heart thumping thrice as fast, hands and legs feeling the chill. It's not unusual if you initially thought that you are the only one from Pg. No friends with you. Heading out to a place where you have never ever set foot on, a place famous for its headhunters. Hah! If you were me, I bet you'd be munching on your own balls too. Indy's first time at the LCCT. After registering with the Star people on guard there, I checked in and had my breakfast in the Malaysian beggar mode. Surprisingly, the LCCT's McDOnalds was swarming with people. After bidding goodbye to my aunt, uncle and my mum, I checked in through immigration and off I go to the waiting area, Gate 9 if I am right.
Fortunately, I wasnt the only shy guy. From the looks of the other participants at the waiting area, they wore an expression that was exactly the same as mine. :|
So, the plane arrived at around 7 am and we boarded the plane. I sat next to a Malay Pak Cik and Mak Cik who was rather friendly. I was quite excited at this point. This was going to be my first time to Borneo. And so I decided to continue reading my sadistic book, The Rape of Nanking. When we landed, it was rather weird to me that we were the only plane at the Sandakan airport. Now, when we were about to leave the plane, my personal alarm in my backpack RANG suddenly, and everybody kinda panicked for a moment. Ada bom ah? Takda, bukan bomb, alarm sje!
very very embarassing indeed. After meeting up with the other P2P participants from Sabah at the airport and John and Mei Cheen, we gathered for a moment of short briefing by the facilitators(thats where I met my first 2 new friends- RIchard and Patrick) before leaving for the jetty. From the jetty, another 3 hours boat ride to the Sukau Rainforest Lodge. We were cruising along the Kinabtangan river and at one point, we were very fortunate to be able to witness a herd of elephants by the riverside. Some were having their lunch, some getting horny and flirtatious. The photos of them in the slides below. There were also villages along the river bank and we were told by Dr Jeanie that they were called the Orang Sungais, the indigenous population in Kinabatangan.

Upon reaching the lodge, we were greeted by Winston Marshall(the guy with the cokebottles fixed onto his eyeballs)Hehezzz.. and we were informed that everyone of us must wear sarong for dinner everyday ( thank god I had some experience of that from Ronggeng Merdeka). Checked into our rooms in the Bilit Wing( where the boys stay) while the Abai WIng was for the girls. The lodge is very nicely decorated, surprisingly, as I did not expect a lodge that far in the jungle where there are no roads leading to it and the only way to get there is by boat to have such richly decorated yet simple designs. The lodge was built based on the concept- the lodge and it's inhabitants are merely part of the forest and unlike the other lodges that we can see elsewhere, we, humans are the "dictators" and "colonizers" of the forest" My room mates were Julian and Alan and they're really nice people. Ok, so now I see that we have our own private toilet for each room and we even have housekeeping everyday, hence, we need not shit n urinate in foxholes as said by my mother.......

The 100th POST....

This is my 100th Post! Bravo! (*applause)This deserves at least my own applause. I was considering to have a ceremony or procession of some sort in Penang at least to celebrate this moment

I have been quite busy lately with the upcoming Kuiz Sejarah which is TOMORROW and the BM Forum Competition which has just been over. So, just a quick update on the BM Forum Competition. Our topic was Handphones....I was supposed to play the role of a president of the Science Society of My School. So, on that day, we reached SMK AIr Itam, and our BEST BEST BEST team Manager ENtao Leow Pei Iu voluntarily did our hair and he siomply brought everything we needed. thanks Pei Iu! We were so paranoid or rather ME , we didnt dare to even take a sip of the drink they provided us with before the competition. In my defense, it looked really like "rusted" water. Anyway we were divided into 2 groups Group A and Group B .Each group composed of around 6 schools. We were in Group A. We were quite nervous at first but the nervousness kinda vaporized after seeing SMK Air Itam in action. Hold IT! I dont mean to say they were bad inf act they were GOOD! Its just that Daniel keeps telling me the pengerusi's voice was faked but he was good other than the fact of his "fake""girlish" voice.
In fact, CHung Ling has always been the last school in terms of marks in this competition thingy. But surprisingly, CLS and our school got thru to the district finals and it was on that day itself. Half an hour more to prepare.
As usual, being me, I spilled the rice and curry on my lap and a bit on the tie...Then I went to the toilet, just int time to see a boy as shocked as I was, with an aerosol can in his hand. He chatted with me while I was peeing asking me about my school and all then disappeared.....
Daniel was mesmerized by the beauty of two of the CLS girls......and even tried somewhat desperately to catch their attention by waving. Well, nevertheless, we got to shake their hands.. Hahaha LOL.

Here's how it went :

+ a bonus - Our "classlife"
Enjoy.. though there was supposed to be an Oscar Award winning video depicting the friendly fight between two classmates................

Politically Neutral as of today

Well, now , we have "change " in Penang but for the better of for the worse. Only time can prevail. Let us all hope that the newly elected state government of Penang can fulfill their promises to the rakyat and prove that they are of the right sorts to be elected during the next election which is when I can cast my first ever vote. It is also beneficial for us, the young generation to attend all these ceramah both by the government and the opposition even though we may still not be "matured" enough to get involved with politics.

We are the ones who will judge the politicians who are elected to their respective posts this election whether they have fulfilled their obligations they have promised the rakyat during this election or are they just another bunch of power hungry folks. The rakyat has given you the chance to rule and let us hope you will not let us down as every politician should always remember that the citizens will always be the master and not them as the rakyat are the ones who placed them up there. Never forget that.

More drama and ...BULLSHIT

It is funny how our politicians have a way of making a fool out of themselves, how they turn themselves into clowns and how they turn a deaf ear to the audience's response. It's even worse when the clowns who are supposed to "entertain" the audience start to INSULT the audience. They tend to overlook the fact that they were there where they are with the help of those little notes and support handed out so generously by the audience at the ticket counter years ago. Now, they are spitting mud onto their faces as they agree to demand for a new and a better "clown".

Experiment PRC 12.1
Aim : To investigate the maturity of some "prominent" Malaysian politicians

Variables:
Manipulated variable : Different clowns
Responding variable : Maturity and hopefully confirmation whether all boys actually undergo puberty after the age of 50.
Fixed variable : Clowns from the same "department" of the circus

Observation:
A wise veteran in politics once( 11 th and 12th March 2008) said :
1) Malays who vote for DAP are not patriotic
Original quote:(mereka tidak lagi bersemangat kebangsaan. mereka tidak bersifat patriotik lagi.)

2) DAP's arrogance will bring our downfall.

3) Lim Kit Siang biadap terhadap raja. His arrogance has been revealed so clearly to all of us. ( Dia(Kit siang) macam membuka pekung di dada )

Another clown from penang :
" Rakyat Pulau Pinang sudah tidak mahu KEMAJUAN! MEreka menunjukkan bahawa mereka tidak mahu lagi kemajuan di Pulau Pinang kerana mereka mengundi untuk oposisi. TARIK BALIK MEGA MEGA PrOJEK di PULAU PINANG."
Translation : The Penangites no longer want development in penang. They dont want mega projects in penang as they have clearly shown what they want by voting for the opposition. Pull back or rather stop all the mega projects in Penang!

Procedure:
1) Observe for yourself. No further explanation needed I suppose.

Conclusion : The maturity of Malaysian politicians (not all though) has been clearly proven to be a lot below the average level. The hypothesis is accepted. However the age of puberty of this experimental samples are still unable to be determined.

An unprecedented sharp turn in Malaysian History

The Clash of the "titans" ? or David vs Goliath?
The polling results revealed on March 8th 2008 that the coalition of opposition parties in Malaysia comprising of PAS, Keadilan and DAP has succeeded in seizing control of 5 states of the total of 13 states in Malaysia. this has never happened before.
Good news:
Samy Vellu's "legacy" has FINALLY ended.

Nevertheless, the focus of political analysts were Penang. How did Gerakan lose every single seat they contested in Penang ? What was the cause or rather the causes?
Tan Sri Dr Koh lost by a staggering 10,000 votes to a newbie in Batu Kawan- How come?
It is clear then that the people no longer have faith in the government's competence and it is so obvious that a lot of non-Malays are infuriated with the keris unsheathing ceremony. Not only that, what suprised most of us was the fact that there is also a swing of Malay votes for PKR and PAS rather than for BN. Why is that so? And yet there are leaders in BN who place the blame on (quote)" other parties in BN ". Haven't these deaf people received the people's message? And please do not blame the downfall of BN on the incompetence of the government in handling our economy. The problem is not with economy but the filth in the mouths of many.
As I am updating my blog, I still hear people bullshitting on the TV3 Buletin Utama News. Quote: " Melayu yang undi untuk DAP tak bersemangat kebangsaan dan tidak patriotik". Apa ini? Malays too have the right of voting who they see as competent and the party that they believe can bring the nation forward. What are all these ?

I was at Youth Park working as a volunteer for 2008's Relay for Life. Even then, I had to return home although the relay was supposed to continue till tomorrow morning. Once the news of the fall of Penang to DAP was received, and due to the fear of another occurence of any " unrest" I had to call it a day. Its good to see RELA and police units on stand by at Youth Park, just in case....

Relay for Life 2008
It rained- not a good omen for BN. The sky turned red. A rocket zipped across the sky. Weird day? Nevertheless, the fight against cancer goes on, regardless of what the day may put upon us. We support the fight till the end although I supported the cause with RM 15 bucks and I was in charge of logistics. I arranged the chairs with all my heart and love and then I helped clean the tables. What a "feat"!!!! LOL!

CNY CHarity Dinner

I wanted to post all the really touching photos and videos of the Chinese New Year Charity Dinner held at the Residents Association premises last Saturday night. A lot of orphans, senior citizens and handicap community such as The Salvation Army, Cheshire Home, Rumah Seri Cahaya, Jubilee Home for the old and a few more I couldnt remeber..
There were around 250 people who attended this event and I was one of the volunteer helping out my mum, aunty yeoh and aunty wendy who were the organizers for the event.

I was supposed to be the emcee for the night but in the end I just helped my mum who became the emcee as she was really frustrated with my dress code. I wore a suit of white Indian traditional costume of which the name I forgotten but I was wearing slippers. My mu felt that it would be a disrespect to the audience if i became the emcee. I learnt my lesson.

Anyway, it was really satisfying to see the happiness on their faces, the senior citizens, the orphans and the less fortunate ones.... it was a joy that one could not describe.....

Unfortunately, all of the photos that were taken were mistakenly deleted by me. Yes by my damned smart-alec hands. Damn! All the amazing video depicting the event and the supportive senior citizens and handicapped community were lost in a flick of an eye. I had the false impression that the photos were already uploaded by Sherooney and decided to "tidy up" ...............ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! All the photos and videos gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hence, I would like to apologize to all of you especially aunt yeoh, aunt wendy and my mum for my mistake.......
