CNY CHarity Dinner

I wanted to post all the really touching photos and videos of the Chinese New Year Charity Dinner held at the Residents Association premises last Saturday night. A lot of orphans, senior citizens and handicap community such as The Salvation Army, Cheshire Home, Rumah Seri Cahaya, Jubilee Home for the old and a few more I couldnt remeber..
There were around 250 people who attended this event and I was one of the volunteer helping out my mum, aunty yeoh and aunty wendy who were the organizers for the event.

I was supposed to be the emcee for the night but in the end I just helped my mum who became the emcee as she was really frustrated with my dress code. I wore a suit of white Indian traditional costume of which the name I forgotten but I was wearing slippers. My mu felt that it would be a disrespect to the audience if i became the emcee. I learnt my lesson.

Anyway, it was really satisfying to see the happiness on their faces, the senior citizens, the orphans and the less fortunate ones.... it was a joy that one could not describe.....

Unfortunately, all of the photos that were taken were mistakenly deleted by me. Yes by my damned smart-alec hands. Damn! All the amazing video depicting the event and the supportive senior citizens and handicapped community were lost in a flick of an eye. I had the false impression that the photos were already uploaded by Sherooney and decided to "tidy up" ...............ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! All the photos and videos gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hence, I would like to apologize to all of you especially aunt yeoh, aunt wendy and my mum for my mistake.......

Storm in a box ENDS,,,,,,,,,

It has ended. 2 months of intensive training and all has just ended last week. The venue chosen couldnt be better...it was perfect- by the seaside, in the middle of the field, far away from the signs of the bustling development of Penang, except for the skyline but even with a touch of development in it, it was so beautiful in the dark and starry night sky.
First performance on Thursday 24th January 2008 - we had the most oomph in us, i'd say it was the best performance among the others. This show was for the USM students and it's actually a full rehearsel. The crowd was very encouraging and supportive.

2nd night Friday 25th January - A very STORMY performance, the true "STORM IN A BOX". Strong winds and sudden flashes of light in the sky scared us all but not to worry, Janet the "bomoh" speaks to the skies and the wind... It was halfway through the 2nd part of the performance after ours, we were sitting on the field in the dark, awaiting the finale where we walk out and pose like models..and Janet with her white luminous hair could be clearly seen even in the dark, walking to the far end of the field and looked at the skies in a peculiar manner, like a captain of a ship...then, she walked over to the far end of the field near the sea where there were shady trees and a large broken slab of wall there(it was real dark and eerie). ANd she stood there facing the trees and skies speaking to them for quite a moment.

Amazingly, the storm did calm down a little and it only rained heavily when we left after the performance...

3rd Night The last night, both happy and sad. I was happy that this "ordeal" and tight schedule has ended but I also refrained from believing that this was the lastr day after all these training.
But tonight, was the most important night as the KL Critics would be coming( magazine editors and specialists in this field)and they didnt really give good comments on our last performance last year I think...
Everything went well(gosh we were nervous)and there was a small party held after the performance by the sea. But before that, everyone posed and posed and went camwhoring.....as usual for us peeps................
